Anthony Robbins and Personal Power
By: Kurt Schmitt
Anthony Robbins is a master motivator and known throughout the world as a peak performance coach. He has worked with top business professionals, professional athletes, and companies the world over.
Tony has opened up and shared his own personal story of success with the world through his seminars, audio and video learning series and books. He is well known for producing results with quick turnarounds. Tony's ability to help people quickly turn around any area of their lives is legendary.
If you didn't know who he was before, you may have seen him in the 2001 comedy movie, Shallow Hal, starring Jack Black. Tony plays himself, as he hypnotizes Jack Black's character into seeing a different view of the world.
Robbins became famous for his infomercials with ex-football star Fran Tarkenton, offering his Personal Power home audio course. This course may best be described as a complete approach to personal change.
Tony's Personal Power program brings together a number of different techniques that you can use to systematically and definitively change your life. He personally recorded the program, which gives you a feeling of being invited into Tony's inner circle.
During each day of the course, you get to hear Tony describe not only his techniques, but also his personal story. I had great results with this course. Tony tends to be very animated, and it's an entertaining and results oriented program. Be prepared, however, as it is also very demanding.
Motivational speakers and personal development gurus had been around for many years, but when Tony appeared on the scene, he took motivation to a more personal level. His system emphasized speed and results over the traditional, slower therapy methods. At the same time, he also brought his program to the masses.
What normally was reserved for high powered executives and corporations, Tony brought to you and me. He created a system that could work for everyone, yet was individualized. In effect, he introduced us to the concept of being our own personal life coach, before we even knew what that was.
Prior to the Anthony Robbins home course, Personal Power, and its updated version Personal Power 2, we learned Tony's techniques from his books. In his book, Unlimited Power, Tony describes neuro linguistic programming, or NLP, upon which a lot of his techniques are based.
NLP is used to create quick and dramatic life change. It is results focused, highly flexible, as well as a highly individual system for personal change.
Tony describes how his NLP based techniques can empower us to take control of our lives and our futures. In fact, he tells you that if you master an understanding of how your brain works, you can become your own therapist and personal consultant. Tony says that you actually go beyond therapy, and are able to change any feeling or behavior for yourself in just moments.
I recommend you look into Tony's methods and see if they fit. I think you'll find, as I did, that the convenience of a home audio series is a valuable tool for both quick and lasting change.
Anthony Robbins has a legion of followers, and probably as many detractors. His methods are powerful, but his most powerful methods are most successful if you are good at visualizing. If you are not, then you may have to work a little harder in order to get good results. But, if you are looking to make sweeping changes that lead to what Tony calls massive action, then Anthony Robbins and his personal power techniques are for you.
