America's Next Top Model: Tyra Banks is

Tyra Banks is one smart entrepreneur as she has successfully conquered the media industry after her also successful career as a top runway model. Her reality series, America 's Next Top Model, has become a TV hit, despite the latest season garnering negative reactions from fans. Moreover, she's an aspiring talk show host who's landed her own show, Tyra. She's far from what Oprah has become, but she's slowly but surely making a name in the talk show industry. After her string of successes, she was finally recognized by one of the most popular magazines in America , thus naming her "Woman of the Year."

Despite recently complaining about being in the tabloid spotlight, Tyra Banks is now grateful to receive the "Woman of the Year" title from OK! Magazine, which recognized her for being the "complete package." The America 's Next Top Model also took this opportunity to speak her mind about body image.

"I love my curves," Tyra Banks said in an interview with the magazine. "I've made millions of dollars with this body."

Moreover, she believes that more women should be comfortable with their own curves, and wishes that there should not be much negativity around not fitting into a size 2.

"An average American woman is size 12 or 14," Banks explained. "So if I look like a 10 or 12 in a picture and someone says I look disgusting, are they saying the majority of America is disgusting? That made me really upset, and that's why I decided to fight back."

Banks believes that the more curvy celebrities there are, the more the situation would be alleviated.

"Right now, there are some great things happening," she said. "There's America Ferrera, Jennifer Hudson, Beyoncé, Jennifer Lopez and myself: women who have curves. But I still feel like this skinny image is heralded. It's very confusing for young girls."

Speaking of confused, some America 's Next Top Model viewers were pondering on Sarah Hartshone's elimination for being too curvy. Of course, we are all still on the lookout for the day that a really curvy woman would emerge victorious from the reality show. With Tyra Banks spearheading the campaign, it might not be too long before someone does.
