3 Essential Qualites to Harness Your Leadership Power
By: Joanne Osband
Do you know the real meaning of CEO? Did you know that leadership and sales have something in common? There are three essential qualities you must know to harness your personal leadership skills and take them to a new level.
First, let us define leadership. Leadership is a process by which a person influences others to accomplish an objective and directs the organization in a way that makes it more cohesive and coherent.
It is my belief that leadership is really made up of two parts. The first part of leadership is to lead a focused, motivated, and productive team, while the second part is the attention to the development of each person on the team as an individual with specific goals. In order to be an effective leader there must be an emphasis on both.
FIRST QUALITY OF A LEADER: A leader has a very special presence or energy which they use to lead followers. The leader inspires a person to be the best that they can be by modeling higher vibrational energy. In addition, a true leader makes you feel better by their presence. That leader is able to see another person’s true essence and support its growth through positive feedback.
The meaning of energy according to the dictionary is an unusually positive spiritual force. Do you know someone like this? When that person walks into the room, can you feel their energy? Dr. David Hawkins in his research, reports that the great prophets of recorded human history such as Jesus, Krishna, and Buddha all calibrated energy at extremely high levels.
The next time you walk into a room stand tall, smile, send out your unusual positive spiritual force. A leader is a CEO; a Chief Energizing Officer.
SECOND QUALITY OF A LEADER: A leader has contagious enthusiasm and it can be catching. A true leader really sells ideas. According to Brian Tracy, a well known expert in the field of sales, he defines sales as a transfer of enthusiasm. A leader has the ability to weave a vision and share a dream in a manner that will speak to others. People will buy into that leader’s vision and make it their own.
When you describe your vision or dream are you painting the picture with plenty of vivid descriptions and enthusiasm? A leader is a CEE: a Chief Enthusiasm Executive.
THIRD QUALITY OF A LEADER: A leader keeps it simple. Leadership need not be rocket science, but simple and practical. A leader is similar to the captain of the ship; a leader is a human GPA system.
As a leader your job is to add energy, enthusiasm, and a clear vision to your team or organization on a continuous basis. People learn by repetition. Be a CFO; a Chief Focusing Officer.
IN SUMMARY, the three effective qualities to harness YOUR leadership power are to be a:
CEO – Chief Energizing Officer
CEE – Chief Enthusiasm Executive
CFO – Chief Focusing Officer
Your special presence of contagious enthusiasm will provide the clarity and guidance that will drive the team and inspire each individual to new levels of excellence.
